I started at the University of New Mexico Press back in the dark ages.
After making my fortune in banking, I opened a gallery. That was fun for
about four years, but the shop-keeping got boring. I've spent the last
20 years marketing and dealing art and exploring the myriad means of
finding buyers. It’s exciting to now be able to represent artists
online.......especially these.
Thanks for looking. Please feel free to email or phone any comments or
questions.
Snail mail works great too
Michelle D. Cook graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1982
under extreme conditions of duress. An agoraphobe and recluse, she was
duped into attending art classes by her older brother. He accompanied
her for the first year as they commuted on the bus, as Ms. Cook did not
learn to drive until she was 25 years of age, about the time she
received her B.F.A.
Her last print, Bed & Breakfast, was produced
in 1994. The work immediately prior, Teratoma (1993), was produced when
she first entered therapy, soon after meeting the love of her life ‑
“MFH the Horrible.” She has not done any prints since although she has
completed several painting commissions in acrylics, collages and note
cards. She currently paints ceramics. Her work can be seen at
www.leroyandwilly.com.
She is
interested in video and has several on YouTube which she produced. They
can be found under her pseudonym EnidDine at
www.youtube.com/user/EnidDine.
Vincent Distasio was born in 1939; he’s been
annoyed ever since. An inveterate curmudgeon, he’s self-taught and likes
it! He puts a tremendous amount of effort into retaining his
*un-tutored* style although you may notice he has a particular talent
for bottoms...be they bison or otherwise. When asked, he says “I paint
the pictures everyone else is afraid to paint.”
He’s been painting for over thirty years, mostly in oils on canvas He
recently (May, 2008) completed several pastels and drawings in ink. He
is also a talented performer and has two videos on Youtube at
www.youtube.com/user/vincentdistasio.
Many of her early works reflect her *bus* experiences. As one of
the few artists this side of the globe to include as many colors in her
serigraphs as she did, often around 50, her editions rarely numbered as
many as
35. So anal
retentive was she in her process that she was lucky to produce 20 of the
few images that include *blends.*
